Before Banksy’s Dismaland park, painter Jeff Gillette depicted on his canvases a park called “Dismayland”, a post-apocalyptic interpretation of Disneyland, with destructed structures and fields full of wastes. The idea of this series came to the artist after some travels as a volunteer in poor places. The goal was to create a powerful mix between slums and the happiest place in te world.
